Jacob Black may have said it best: "A lot of red eyes around here."
The latest teaser trailer for "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" hit the Web Wednesday (June 20), and it's brimming with a bounty of new bloodsuckers descending upon Forks to defend the Cullen clan (including newborn Renesmee) against the villainous Volturi. Let's take a closer look at the saga's fresh blood.
OK, this isn't exactly our first glimpse of the Denali coven member, as she made a brief appearance at Bella and Edward's nuptials during "Breaking Dawn - Part 1." But her role in the series finale is profound enough to warrant a mention. You see, it's Irina who tells the Volturi that the Cullens have supposedly created an immortal child — the result of biting a youngster, freezing them in a perpetual adolescence. Of course, we know that Renesmee is a rare vampire-human hybrid, having been conceived by Bella and Edward. The Volturi don't know that, though, so they set off to exact punishment for the high crime.
No, that isn't Mark Wahlberg reprising his "Rock Star" role, it's "Pushing Daisies" actor Lee Pace looking all kinds of scruffy as nomadic vampire Garrett. (No room for a blow-dryer on the road, I guess!) Unlike many of the assembled immortals, Garrett doesn't have a special talent — except maybe fortitude, as his ability to endure fellow vampire Kate's powers stops her from attacking the Volturi and inciting a blood bath. In the trailer, it looks as though Garrett may have already aligned himself with the Denali coven before the events of "Breaking Dawn," which would be a departure from Stephenie Meyer's source material.
One of the more intriguing moments from the latest look is Benjamin's rather damp display of talent. The Egyptian coven member can control the elements and does so in grand fashion, bending a swath of water to his will. Like Bella, Benjamin spends a great deal of time during "Part 2" practicing and harnessing his abilities for use against the Volturi.
The blond bloodsucker you see sparingly throughout the trailer is English vamp Alistair, a longtime friend of Carlisle Cullen. Alistair spends most of his time sulking in the attic and disappears before the Volturi arrive. Seeing as he gets a few good looks here, it wouldn't be unreasonable to think he might stick around for the final face-off in this iteration.
Judith Shekoni as Zafrina and Tracey Heggins as Senna
Zafrina and Senna, along with maker Kachiri, comprise the Amazon coven. Zafrina boasts the ability to create vivid illusions and spends time entertaining Renesmee with her mental images. But it's Kachiri (not seen in the trailer) who helps Alice and Jasper track down important immortal-children evidence to present to the Volturi in the Cullens' defense. "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" hits theaters November 16.

Pop Queen's inclusion of lines from her 'She's Not Me' makes medley seem more like dig than tribute.

<P>Madonna's diva rivalry with Lady Gaga may be taken up a notch when her <i>MDNA</i> tour kicks off Thursday at Tel Aviv, Israel's Ramat Gan Stadium. In new rehearsal footage, the 53-year-old legend is seen singing a mashup of her "Express Yourself" and Gaga's "Born This Way" that concludes with a few lines from Madonna's copycat-shaming "She's Not Me."</P><P>Last year, when Lady Gaga released her hit single "Born This Way," controversy erupted over the song's similarity to Madonna's "Express Yourself." (Never mind that much of the resemblance is rooted in <i>both</i> songs' use of a pretty common disco chord progression.) At first, things seemed cool between the two singers. They'd always gotten along publicly, and Gaga told Jay Leno that M's camp reached out to say all was well in the diva-verse with regard to the songs' similarities (something later denied by Madonna's people).</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Madonna - "Express Yourself"" id="vid:13328" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>The whole thing appeared to have blown over until earlier this year, when Madonna was promoting her movie "W.E." and her Super Bowl halftime performance during an ABC News interview. Madonna was asked what she thought of the comparisons, and in response she called Lady Gaga "reductive."</P><P>Gaga's been pretty quiet throughout, but it's hard not to wonder if she'll stay that way once word of this latest swipe makes its way to her ears. (Gaga is currently in Asia on her Born This Way Ball tour, and she was recently forced to cancel a planned show in Indonesia after receiving threats from fundamentalist Islamic groups in the country.)</P><P>New leaked footage from rehearsals for Madonna's own road show showcases a reportedly planned mashup of "Express Yourself" and "Born This Way," and while the resemblance between the two songs remains as striking as ever, that's not the real story. Just those two songs layered together could have been fun: The two stars certainly have overlapping fanbases, who no doubt would have delighted in the winking acknowledgement of M's influence on Gaga. But Madonna complicates things by concluding the medley with a few lines from her <i>Hard Candy</i> track "She's Not Me," a song about Madonna being emulated by another woman.</P><P>The inclusion of "She's Not Me" makes the medley seem like yet another scathing dig at Gaga. It's unknown whether Madonna was just goofing around during rehearsals or whether she plans to include that final digging refrain throughout her tour.</P><P><i>Is Madonna taking things too far, or are we misreading things? Good-natured ribbing or mean-spirited digging? You tell us in the comments below!</i></P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Lady Gaga - "Born This Way"" id="vid:742058" width="415" height="255"></div><p></p>

I've been watching a lot of HGTV since coming to LA. My favorite shows are House Hunters and House Hunters International. There's also another show I like to watch called For Rent, but only because it makes me angry.
When it comes to apartments/homes, I think living in New York for the past eleven years has made me bitter because there was this whiny broad on For Rent a few nights ago who was looking at a huge place—A HUGE PLACE—and was like, "There's no place for a dining room table..."
B*TCH, YOU'RE LUCKY TO GET A KITCHEN IN NEW YORK.
I hated her.
Now there's some stupid lady on House Hunters who wants a townhouse with a fireplace that she can turn on with a light switch. IT HAS TO BE A LIGHT SWITCH because she doesn't want to bend down and flip a switch on the floor.
WHO DO THESE PEOPLE THINK THEY ARE?
Anyway, I know my LA update is WAY overdue (and truth be told I wrote a long one last week but for some reason it didn't save so I lost the whole thing and I was so angry that I just said, "Ah, f*ck it," and closed the computer instead of rewriting) but to give you a quick update, I AM SO HAPPY HERE. I MEAN, I'M REALLY, REALLY HAPPY. And I think living here and watching HGTV—both of these things combined—has made me realize that New York was just beating me down. I mean, the fireplace lady—yes, she's an idiot. But there's nothing wrong with wanting a dining room table. Why did I get so mad at that lady?
Since being here, at least once a day I ask myself why I have lived in New York for so long. (It's like I had Stockholm Syndrome or something.) CALIFORNIA IS AWESOME. It's like the promised land. It's sunny all the time and there are birds and flowers everywhere. I have space out here. I have a sofa on the patio out here. I HAVE A SOFA OUTSIDE. I haven't seen one rat since I've been here. But hummingbirds? THEY ZIP BY MY HEAD EVERY DAY. I am so happy.
I'm supposed to go back to New York in November, but truth be told, I'm not sure I will.

Mother Monster takes to Twitter to let her dad know she is doing fine after a concert head injury.

<P>A little more than a week after Lady Gaga suffered a concussion and some bruises from an onstage collision with a metal set piece on her <i>Born This Way</i> Ball, the singer got some good news: She's doing just fine.</P><P>"Went for an MRI," she tweeted on Wednesday (June 20). "No harm from the concussion but it appears my brain is just water and a large floating jellyfish." She then shared just <i>who</i> she got the check-up for, adding a little note to her dad. "@germanottajoe i had them check my noodle," she wrote. "that was your father's day present Il mio babbo!! I thought they were taking me to the zoo. She walked off during "Judas" only to return to the stage after a short break to perform 16 more songs. "I want to apologize," she later told the crowd. "I did hit my head and I think I may have a concussion. But don't you worry, I will finish this show."</P><P>Gaga will play several shows in Sydney, including a gig on Wednesday night. She'll play Australia through the remainder of this month before hitting up Europe in July. She has dates slated right through December abroad. She has yet to announce North American dates for her elaborate <i>Born This Way</i> Ball, with a gothic castle serving as the tour's main visual.</P><P>In addition to touring through the rest of 2012, Gaga will also release her first fragrance, Fame, in September, which also happens to be the month she will announce the title of her next album, the follow-up to 2011's Born This Way.</P><P>

Critics says Benjamin Walker brings 'backbone' to an otherwise 'fake and cartoony' retelling of the Civil War.

"Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" reimagines the Civil War as a struggle between the living and the undead with our 16th president as a slayer of the bloodsuckers. It sounds like a fun premise, but critics certainly wish the filmmakers had stuck to the history books.
Here is our roundup of what the critics are saying about "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter."
The Story
"The story opens with young Abe witnessing the murder of his mother by a vampire. He swears vengeance, and some years later is lucky to be getting drunk while standing at a bar next to Henry Sturgess (Dominic Cooper), who coaches him on vampire-killing and explains that it is a high calling, requiring great dedication and avoiding distractions like marriage. Against Henry's advice, Lincoln (Benjamin Walker) marries Mary Todd (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), and the story moves quickly to his days in the White House, where he discovers that the vampires are fighting on the side of the South." — Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times
Benjamin Walker
"He lucked out big time nabbing Benjamin Walker to play Lincoln from 8 to 80 (not exactly, but you get my point). Walker, 30, was a dick-swinging smash on Broadway in the 2010 musical 'Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson,' playing Old Hickory as a genocidal horror in sexy pants. Walker brings backbone and flashes of humor to the guy on the five-dollar bill." — Peter Travers, Rolling Stone
The Direction
"To stand a chance of pulling this off on film, you need wit and a deft touch, and, boy, is Timur Bekmambetov the wrong man for the job. (Tim Burton, who produced, would have been the better choice.) The director came out of Russia some years back with a pair of showy fantasy thrillers, 'Night Watch' and 'Day Watch,' and has since made the Angelina Jolie shoot-em-up 'Wanted.' Bekmambetov's filmmaking style manages to be both frantic and ponderous, and he has the humor of a nightclub bouncer." — Ty Burr, http://www.boston.com/ae/movies/articles/2012/06/22/abraham_lincoln_vampire_h..." target="_blank">The Boston Globe
The Script
"Adapting his own richly embroidered novel, which is a lot more fun than the movie, Seth Grahame-Smith (who also wrote 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies') strips his book for parts and ditches the most interesting cockamamie detail and context." — Michael Phillips, Chicago Tribune
The Final Word
"Unfortunately, director Timur Bekmambetov and writer Seth Grahame-Smith, adapting his own best-selling novel, take this concept entirely too seriously. What ideally might have been playful and knowing is instead uptight and dreary, with a visual scheme that's so fake and cartoony, it depletes the film of any sense of danger." — Christy Lemire, The Associated Press

Perez Hilton reports that January 24 episode includes a 'Beat It' and 'Billie Jean' mash-up.

<P>"Glee" has already dedicated entire episodes to Madonna, Britney Spears and Lady Gaga, and come 2012, it's the King of Pop's turn.</P><P>A rumored set list for the January 24 "Glee" Michael Jackson tribute episode has hit the Web, and it features some of the late singer's greatest hits. Perez Hilton reports that 14 tracks have made the final cut, although the list has yet to be confirmed by anyone connected with the show.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="'Glee' Cast Members Talk Michael Jackson Episode" id="vid:549513.id:1645343" width="240" height="211"></div><p></P><P>The set list (along with who will perform the track) reportedly includes "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' " (Blaine), "Bad" (the New Directions and the Warblers), "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" (Finn and Rachel), "Smooth Criminal" (Santana and Sebastian), "Never Can Say Goodbye" (Quinn), "In the Closet" (Brittany and Santana), "We Are the World" (the New Directions and the Warblers), "Black and White" (Puck), "Ghost"/"Monster" (New Directions), "Beat It"/"Billie Jean" (Warblers), "The Way You Make Me Feel" (Kurt) and "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" (Artie).</P><P>This is hardly the first time the show has paid homage to Jackson. Back in 2010, the New Directions performed his track "Thriller," complete with zombie garb, during an episode that aired after the Super Bowl. The show has also previously covered "P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)" and "Man in the Mirror."</P><P>Back in 2010, the cast of the hit Fox show had only imagined what it would be like to have an entire episode dedicated to Jackson. "I would love to do a Michael Jackson episode," Amber Riley told MTV News at the time. "You know, it's so many [songs that I love], but my favorite song by him is 'Human Nature.' I love that song."</P><P>While Riley seemed psyched about the opportunity, castmate Jenna Ushkowitz found the possibility a little more daunting. "That's a scary, scary episode to do," she said. "[But] that would be absolutely amazing."</P><P><i>Are you happy with the rumored set list? What's missing? Share your thoughts in the comments below!</i></p>
