Justin Bieber Protege Carly Rae Jepsen Taking Page From Adele

'I might Adele you and make, like, millions off my sorrow,' singer warns potential boyfriends.
By Natasha Chandel

Taylor Swift and Adele have made a business out of their breakups, and it looks like Justin Bieber's protégé Carly Rae Jepsen just might follow suit.

Swift, who has admitted to writing about her ex-boyfriends, finds relationships to be her greatest inspiration. "Forever & Always" was directed at ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas, who reportedly broke up with her via text message. "Back to December" was an apology song to Taylor Lautner, and rumors swirled that "Dear John" was aimed at reported ex John Mayer.

Adele, meanwhile, wrote her entire 21 album about one ex-boyfriend, popping out hits like "Rolling in the Deep" and "Someone Like You."

Now Jepsen, recently signed to Bieber's Schoolboy Records, has dropped Curiosity, her relationship-centric EP with catchy tunes like "Call Me Maybe." "It's all about love and chaos and those fun messes," Jepsen wrote of her record on her personal website. She tells boys to exercise caution when dating her. "I might seek revenge. I might Adele you and make, like, millions off my sorrow."

And who can blame her? Both Adele and Swift landed in Billboard's Music's Top 40 Money Makers 2012, with Adele at #10, grossing more than $13 million, and Swift trumping at #1, earning more than $35 million.

But not every young teenage girl is seeking revenge against her no-good boyfriend. So what advice does Jepsen, who might do a collaboration with Bieber, have for young girls to avoid such "fun messes"? "Be yourself. 'Cause I feel like when you're trying to be somebody other than that, you attract things that aren't necessarily very good for you," Jepsen told MTV News. Unless, of course, those things help you rake in the millions.

Would you write a song about an ex? Share your comments below!

Charlize Theron: I Was Obsessed with Ballet & Wore Nerdy Glasses

She's just a few months away from the release of two big movies in "Prometheus" and "Snow White and the Huntsman," and Charlize Theron got back to her roots by covering the April 2012 issue of Women's Health South Africa.

The 36-year-old actress, who hails from the nation's province of Gauteng, looked spectacular for the Matthias Vriens shot spread while opening up to the magazine about topics such as not being popular in high school and her Africa Outreach Project.

Highlights from Miss Theron's interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to Women's Health South Africa!

On not being popular in high school:
"I wasn't part of the popular crowd. I went to an art school, where I was obsessed with ballet and I wore nerdy glasses. Boys don't like big, nerdy glasses, so I didn't really have boyfriends, but I had a massive crush on this boy ? and a magazine writer who interviewed me went and found him. This guy didn't know I existed in school, but he told the writer, 'Yeah, tell her the crush was mutual.' F**k that! The crush was so not mutual. He was like, 'Oh, I remember she wore those glasses.' Eww!"

On her Africa Outreach Project:
"It's great. We are continuing to find projects that are encouraging preventive care. With this work, it's like anything in life: if you don't love it, you shouldn't do it. I love what we're doing and I believe in it. Growing up in South Africa, I understand the immediate need, and also feel the neglect of people who have no tools to understand how to prevent becoming HIV-positive. So we're really trying to encourage existing NGOs to support preventive care."

On her definition of femininity:
"It's a matter of attitude ? sensuality, grace, elegance and compfidence."

On how she feels about South Africa now:
"It's a beautiful country and I still consider it my home. It's one of those places that stays in the heart and soul ? it's always a part of you."

Kim Kardashian: Barry?s Bootcamp Babe

Beginning her week with a full-on workout, Kim Kardashian was spotted at Barry?s Bootcamp Gym in Los Angeles this morning (March 26).

The ?Keeping Up with the Kardashians? cutie looked a bit worn out as she made her exit and strolled past a swarm of shutterbugs.

And in the aftermath of Kim?s unfortunate flour-bombing snafu at the launch of her new fragrance True Reflection, it?s yet-to-be-determined if Kardashian will take any legal action.

A rep from PETA, who claims not to be involved with the situation, told press, "We don't believe Kim would be so shortsighted as to go after this woman. But if she does, we'll definitely look at how to maximize exposure to the cruel fur industry, and that could mean defending the activist if she wishes."

Justin Bieber's 'Boyfriend' Teaser Goes Hard

The 13-second preview of Mike Posner-produced track shows off an edgier side of Bieber.
By Jocelyn Vena

Is it killing you that you have to wait until Monday to hear what "Boyfriend" sounds like? Well, Justin Bieber feels your pain and decided to release a teaser for the lead single off his album, Believe.

The 13-second, blink-and-you-might-miss-it tease is spare in terms of instruments, just bleeps and thumps, no singing or rapping. But it does play up Bieber's love for hip-hop; as it nears the end of the tease, a drum line-style beat kicks in. Come Monday, of course, the whole song will drop for Beliebers' listening pleasure.

The video teaser also includes footage of Bieber in the studio, recording "Boyfriend," which was co-written and co-produced by Mike Posner. The clip premiered on Justin's website late Thursday night.

"This record is different in a very good way," said producer/writer Mason Levy, who also worked on the song. "Definitely edgier, it's more grown-up, it's more developed and it's sexier. It's just like really dope. It's gonna definitely surprise people. People aren't really expecting that. They're going to like it."

It's clear from the teaser that Bieber is using influences from urban music and that he's looking to grow up sonically. The music in the new clip also seems to pay homage to Justin Timberlake, and even Chris Brown. Bieber has confirmed that he raps on the song.

"It's more just the verses [that he's rapping on], and the rest he's singing," Levy told MTV News. "It's dope. It's hip-hop, but with great acoustic R&B, pop guitar with very hip-hop, clubby drums and really dope Justin Timberlake-y melodies."

What do you think of "Boyfriend" so far? Tell us in the comments!

Chris Cornell Filling In For Robert Plant On Led Zeppelin Tour? That's News To Him

'I have not been approached to fill in for Robert Plant on the Zeppelin tour, but that isn't to say I won't be,' singer says.
By Chris Harris

Former SoundgardenSoundgarden and AudioslaveAudioslave frontman Chris CornellChris Cornell has spoken out for the first time about rumors that he's been asked to fill in for Robert PlantRobert Plant on a proposed Led ZeppelinLed Zeppelin reunion tour. The trek would feature original guitarist Jimmy Page, original bassist John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham taking over on drums for his late father, John Bonham.

Cornell has been mentioned — along with Foo FightersFoo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, former Van HalenVan Halen frontman Sammy HagarSammy Hagar, White StripesWhite Stripes mastermind Jack White and Alter BridgeAlter Bridge's Myles Kennedy — as a potential Plant fill-in. Plant has already said that he wouldn't take part in the tour.

"I have not been approached so far to fill in for Robert Plant on the upcoming Zeppelin tour, but that isn't to say I won't be," Cornell told MTV News. "I've heard that from about 200 people now, and it might be one of those situations where it's just an online rumor or it might be true. But if you see anyone from Led Zeppelin around, let me know. I think I should actually fill in for Jimmy Page on the Robert Plant/ Alison Krauss tour."

Cornell's denial comes just a day after AerosmithAerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford confirmed reports that frontman Steven Tyler recently met with Zeppelin for an impromptu jam session. "They did it for fun," Whitford said during an appearance on the syndicated show "Todd N Tyler Radio Empire." "I actually think Jimmy wanted Steven to come over and play a little bit because I think he was trying to light a fire under Robert."

Rumors of a Zeppelin reunion tour have abounded since the iconic band played a single reunion set last year at London's O2 Arena. Twisted SisterTwisted Sister frontman Dee Snider added fuel to the fire last month when he revealed that the group was thinking of touring, with or without Plant.

According to Snider, the rest of the band told Plant, " 'We're all rehearsed, we're ready to go. Here's a gazillion dollars on the table. If you don't do it, we're going out with this kid [Myles Kennedy].' "

"And he can sing the sh-- out of Zeppelin," Snider added. "They're going to hope that Robert, at the last minute, will go, 'OK,' and step in."

In a recent interview, Jones told BBC Radio Devon that a new singer was being sought to take over for Plant. "We are trying out a couple of singers," he said. "We want to do it. It's sounding great, and we want to get on and get out there."

But Jones insists that he, Page and Bonham aren't interested in finding a Plant clone. "It's got to be right," he said. "There's no point in just finding another Robert. You could get that out of a tribute band, but we don't want to be our own tribute band. There would be a record and a tour, but everyone has to be onboard."

Of course, even if Zeppelin were to approach him, Cornell might be too busy to take over vocals for the band. His upcoming TimbalandTimbaland-produced solo LP, Scream, will be released within the next few months. Cornell told MTV News last month that some of his fans might consider Scream something of a departure, but he doesn't see it that way.

"It makes me happy that there's this perception that I have a group of fans that I'm now sort of throwing a curve at and what their reaction will be," he said. "But I've been in this situation so many times already. When I put out [1999's] Euphoria Morning, my main goal was to create an album that sounded like nothing I'd done in Soundgarden, and I did that. I also had that with Temple of the Dog, where I showed up with songs that weren't necessarily riff-based. And then, of course, the pairing of me and members of Rage Against the MachineRage Against the Machine had everyone sort of speculating about what that would sound like.

"It feels like I've done this so many times that when it's presented to me as being a departure, I feel that's a misconception," he added. "I feel like that's my theme at this point."

Ke$ha Out For Vengeance In Musical March Madness

'I'm getting ready as we speak,' she tells MTV News of this year's tournament, tipping off Monday.
By James Montgomery

Last year, based mainly on her attitude, the fact that she plays an AK-47 shaped guitar and the presence of photos like this, Ke$ha was given an 11 seed in MTV's Musical March Madness tournament — and promptly lost by a huge margin to U2 in the opening round.

Of course, she's spent the past 12 months fuming over that early exit, and now, she's going to get her shot at redemption. Not only is Ke$ha back in the 2012 MMM tournament — which kicks off Monday — but she's beefed up her rock credentials: working with the likes of Alice Cooper, channeling the "sexiness" of '70s rock on her new album, recording a (genuinely pretty great) cover of Bob Dylan's "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright" and spending time snorting Tums with Wayne Coyne.

So, yeah, this year, she's ready to knock off the field of 63 other acts gunning for the MMM trophy — a brimming bracket that includes defending champions Green Day, upstarts Fun. and good pals the Black Keys, to name just a few — and reign supreme. But just in case all that rock-and-roll prep work isn't enough to put her over the top, well, Ke$ha has another secret weapon at the ready: an incredibly toned pelvic floor.

"I'm getting ready as we speak. I'm doing Kegels," she told MTV News, while throwing phantom punches at an unsuspecting cameraman. "Vote for me!"

MTV's 2012 Musical March Madness tournament begins Monday, March 12, when we'll unveil the full field of 64 bands that will battle for this year's championship. Winners are determined by fan votes, so if your favorite act made the cut, it will be up to you to guide them to glory. You can rally the troops on Twitter using the hashtag #MMM — but get ready, it's gonna be a war.
