Barbara Walters Hospitalized

Barbara Walters was hospitalized yesterday after taking a nasty spill that left her with a serious cut on her forward. It may not sound that serious but wait tell you see just how the famous journalist hurt herself. US Weekly is reporting that Walters is recovering nicely at the hospital from a fall she suffered at the home of the British Ambassador’s residence. While at his home on Saturday night she fell on a stair and even though she cut her head, she appears to be doing just fine. ABC News senior vice president, Jeffrey W. Schneider, released the below statement regarding the condition of Barbara. “Out of an abundance of caution, she went to the hospital to have her cut tended to, have a full examination and remains there for observation. Barbara is alert (and telling everyone what to do), which we all take as a very positive sign.” 83-year old Barbara is spending the weekend in Washington D.C. to cover all the Inauguration events. However it is being reported that because of her injury it looks like she will not be contributing to any of ABC’s reports tomorrow. Despite that fact that the fall she sustained was not serious, she is still [...]

Heidi & Spencer Hated On Big Brother

Hey, I have a real shocker for ya. Heidi Montag & Spencer Pratt are not very popular with their cast mates on Big Brother 11. But how could anyone not instantly fall in love with these two? Pictures: PR Photos It’s one thing to be annoying. It’s another to actually make a living out of it. Spencer has admitted that his whole “schtick” is to act like an ass-clown. He does it on purpose. Kind of like a shock jock on talk radio. But that doesn’t excuse him. After a while of putting on an act, you actually become that person. Heidi and Spencer have completely embodied that act, to the point that I think they are in too deep, weird magical rocks and all. The story goes that their sad little trek through the D-list landed them on this year’s season of Big Brother. Not even much time has passed, but they are already pissing people off. According to RadarOnline, some of the complaints the cast mates have about them are “…not participating in mandated tasks for the show, not following rules of the house, overt displays of public affection, and, of course, their blistering words.” One particular model [...]

Michael Jackson Doctor Can't Afford Lawyer For Appeal

Conrad Murray asks judge for a court-appointed attorney to appeal his involuntary manslaughter conviction.
By Gil Kaufman

<P>Just weeks after being sent to jail for four years following a conviction on a felony involuntary manslaughter charge in the death of Michael Jackson, cardiologist Conrad Murray is throwing himself on the mercy of the court. </P><P> </P><P>The doctor had been slated to earn up to $150,000 a month to act as Jackson's personal physician before the pop icon's death in June 2009 from an overdose of the Murray-administered surgical anesthetic propofol. But on Tuesday E! News reported that Murray filed a notice of appeal in Los Angeles Superior Court in which he claimed that he is "indigent and respectfully requests the appointment of counsel on appeal." </P><P> </P><P>Murray, 58, is planning to appeal both his conviction and his sentence, but has not yet filed papers with the California Appeals Court. He had hired two lawyers to handle his manslaughter case, but is now seeking attorneys with appeal experience. One of those former lawyers, J. Michael Flanagan, told E! that he was shocked at how his client is being treated in jail. </P><P> </P><P>"It is crazy and unbelievable how [the sheriffs] are treating" Murray in jail, said Flanagan, who claimed he waited over an hour to see Murray, who was brought out in handcuffs and leg chains. Flanagan was further shocked to see Murray handcuffed to the table for their meeting, something the lawyer said he'd never seen before in the case of a low-level, non-violent offender. </P><P> </P><P>Charles Peckham, who is handling civil cases against Murray, told the Associated Press that his client is under tight security and isolation that is more intense than other inmates at the Los Angeles Men's Central Jail. </P><P> </P><P>"Treating him like Hannibal Lecter is offensive," said Peckham. "This man who saved lives made a mistake, and they're going to [make] him pay like a mass-murderer." Sheriff's officials defended the tight security, saying it was for Murray's safety.</p>
