Britney Spears recently shared that she plans to shoot her video for "Criminal" in England, and now fans are not only learning more details about her plans to promote the single but also getting a look at the cover artwork.
The turquoise-and-red single art for the song — which is now all over the blogs — features a serious-looking Spears looking out into the distance, her wavy hair falling on her bare back. A mysterious hooded man is also featured on the cover. A rep confirmed to MTV News on Wednesday (September 14) that the art is official.
Spears has promised that the video will be eye-catching. "Actually, the song, when I first heard it, it's really different and it's not anything I've heard like this before. So I really wanted to deliver this song. I was thinking of a really cool concept for the video just to make it interesting," she told us last month. "You'll have to see."
As for the location of the shoot, Spears gushed about it on Twitter. "So excited to stop over in the UK before I start my European tour in a few weeks," she wrote. "Can't wait! I LOVE London, it's like my second home. Decided to shoot the 'Criminal' video in the streets of merry old England when I get there."
As Spears gears up for the release of "Criminal," she's also got a few other projects in the works, including a remix album due out next month and a concert special set to air on Epix. The just-released trailer for the special, set to air in November, uses concert footage from her Femme Fatale Tour, which Brit is gearing up to take to Europe later this month.
What are you hoping to see from Brit's "Criminal" video? Tell us in the comments!

'At one point in time, we were a family,' Freeway tells 'RapFix Live' of Jay-Z/Damon Dash era.

Roc-A-Fella Records was once one of the most storied labels and rap crews in the business. Under the guidance of Jay-Z, Damon Dash and Kareem "Burke" Biggs, artists like Kanye West, Beanie Sigel, Cam'ron, Memphis Bleek and Freeway were able to carve out careers for themselves that would carry on even after the label disbanded.
On Wednesday's "RapFix Live" with host Sway, Free discussed the last days of the Roc, the separation that existed between the record label's subdivisions and how he was able to bounce back.
"At one point in time we were a family. The whole thing about Roc-A-Fella that they pride themselves on is the family structure," Freeway said of the label that was composed of a number of sub-crews like the Diplomats, State Property and Bleek's Get Low clique. Free then went on to describe how the once-united crews came to be divided.
By 2005, the Jay-Z/Dame Dash feud was dominating headlines, but for Free, the reality didn't set in until after he dropped his 2007 sophomore album. "It definitely was a point in time when I was like, 'Oh sh--, what am I gonna do?' " the bearded MC recalled, saying that it was former Roc-A-Fella A&R Lenny Santiago who broke the news to him and State Property. "I think it was the time when it was really over and everybody got dropped, after ['07's] Free at Last, probably like a couple of months after that, that's when we realized. Lenny S. came to Philly to talk to us.
"He was like, 'Look, man, it's gonna be some changes again; everything ain't how it was,' basically, 'It's over.' "
Without a hint of bitterness in his voice, the street-hardened MC described his mind-set. "What I did is go back to what I normally do," he told Sway.
According to Philly Freezer, when he first appeared on Jay-Z's "1-900-Hustler" in 2000, he wasn't actually signed to Roc-A-Fella: His deal came after a series of radio freestyles and battles in which Free proved himself. So when his deal with the legendary label dissolved, he went back to what he knew, grinding on the underground level. Free's 2010 Stimulus Package, produced with Jake One, helped cement his status as a formidable MC and should nicely set up his Diamond in the Rough LP coming later this year.
To let Freeway tell it, the transition from being under the Roc umbrella was relatively easy. "When the whole breakup came, I just went back to what I know," he said. "It was actually better for me because I already had a name established from the Roc-A-Fella brand."

The 'O.M.G.' singer looks forward to sharing the stage with his protégé on Sunday night.

HOLLYWOOD — At Sunday's 53rd Grammy Awards, Usher will be pulling double duty as both a nominee and a performer. Of course, given the massive year he just completed — with the success of his smash single "O.M.G." and as a mentor to rising phenom Justin Bieber — Ush's Grammy plans seem rather fitting.
Especially since he'll be performing with Bieber (and Bieber's pal Jaden Smith), a move that's just as much about celebrating Usher's successes as it is the successes of his young protégé.
"Having been through [the Grammys] so many times, you couldn't want for anything more than for your young protégé to have the opportunity to have one, so, in support of him having his moment, I wanted to be here," Usher told MTV News on Thursday, hours before his performance at the (Belvedere) RED launch party in Hollywood. "And also to be there to perform, to kind of tell the story of how we came together. This music business has definitely been good to both of us, and this year we have a lot to be happy for."
And just how will the dynamic duo tell that story? Well, Usher wasn't about to reveal all the details, but he did say that he's hoping their performance will show another side of Bieber ... a side most tend to overlook.
"The performance will be fun," Usher explained. "We want to get up there and just do what we do. Be comfortable, and have a great time. ... This is kind of a crossover for Justin. Having performed on so many different stages, this is the way that I wanted him to be seen and an opportunity to show the industry — a lot of the industry, that didn't believe [in him] — some of his other talents. He's going to play acoustically, and also, we'll get down a little bit."
And though Ush is up for a pair of Grammy awards on Sunday — Best Male R&B Vocal Performance and Best Contemporary R&B Album for Raymond v. Raymond — he's most looking forward to sharing the stage with Bieber and giving fans a look at where the young artist will be heading next.
"I'm very proud, man. I definitely saw it from the beginning, but thanks to the team that we have around us, it was made to happen. And that story has only just begun," Usher said. "The story of Justin Bieber doesn't stop with screaming girls; we need screaming fans all around the world ... a cultural experience that's much more than just fanfare. And that's what this is. That's what the Grammys will be; that's what my next phase for Justin is. This is the way I found him: I found him with a guitar in his hand, so I want him to be seen that way."
Don't miss "Snooki & Sway: Live From the Grammys," a red-carpet live stream kicking off Sunday at 6 p.m. ET on MTV.com. And stick with us all Grammy night for coverage of the red carpet, the show, the afterparties and beyond!

Third of six fashion films for 'Yoü and I' features Gaga's mermaid character.
By Jocelyn Vena
Three down, three to go. Lady Gaga released her third "Yoü and I" fashion film, and this time she's portraying her mermaid incarnation, Yüyi.
The previous two videos took a closer look at her Nymph character and her Bride character from the original, full-length "Yoü and I" video.
The latest installment features a montage of behind-the-scenes shots of Gaga making her way out of her trailer as she is carried around the Nebraska set of her video to the barn where a majority of the video takes place. She's carried through the cornfields of Nebraska by two crew members.
Gaga is seen gyrating on the all-white set as Yüyi, bouncing on her director's chair and flopping around like the fish out of water her character is. The Inez-and-Vinoodh-directed video also features cameos by a bare-chested cowboy, one of the crew members who carried her around in the behind-the-scenes footage, and Nicola Formichetti, the singer's longtime stylist and Mugler creative director.
The clip closes out as Yüyi-fied Gaga and her crew make their way into the barn, where all the original "Yoü and I" magic took place. "It's like she really gives so much," Inez recalled of shooting the clips. "Sometimes we were shooting, it was like 3 a.m., and she's been on set forever and still you get an incredible performance — full of fire.
"It was exciting, it was intense. It was 108 degrees, but it was exciting because there's so much energy. We had great people around us," the fashion photographer added.
In addition to its Web debut late Tuesday, Formichetti tweeted an invitation to a premiere event for the new "Yoü and I" fashion film held at a New York pop-up store. The video premiered there on the eve of the store's closing.
