Lady Gaga's Born This Way Album Is Everything To Everyone

Singer's hotly anticipated album streamed (and leaked) online Wednesday.

On the cover of the current issue of V magazine, Lady Gaga can be seen sporting three heads, a symbolic gesture to the many facets of her personality. But after listening to her brand-new Born This Way album, you'll quickly realize that the V cover is a bit of an understatement: three heads are clearly not enough.

On Born This Way, (which premiered in full on the website of U.K.'s Metro newspaper early Wednesday morning, for U.K. users only, and also leaked online), Gaga proves that she is one of the most multifaceted pop stars on the planet. She takes on roughly 750 different personas on the album — throughout the course of 14 songs, she professes to be "a warrior queen," "a soldier," "a winner" (and, later on, "a loser"), "a selfish punk," "a bad kid" and "a degenerate young rebel" (and proud of it), to name just a few. She is also a messiah, an idol, a down-and-dirty homegirl, a lonely girlfriend, a mother, a martyr, a prostitute and a mother superior. Shoot, she even speaks German and Spanish.

Perhaps she sums it up best on the sumptuously dirty "Government Hooker," when she proclaims, quite matter-of-factly, "I could be anything. I could be everything."

That quote is a pretty apt way to sum up Born This Way's entire mission statement: It tries very hard to be everything to everyone. From the piston-pumping electronics of "Marry the Night" and the tarantula tango of "Americano" to the twitching, "Transformers"-large techno of "Heavy Metal Lover" and the Queen-sized balladry of "You and I" (featuring the one-and-only Brian May on guitar) and "The Edge of Glory" (featuring the one-and-only Clarence Clemons on sax), there truly isn't a genre she doesn't attempt to cram onto the disc.

And believe it or not, it all works. This is definitely a long player (the shortest song clocks in at a hair under four minutes), but an album this full of songs and ideas should take all the space (and time) it needs. It is epic. It is excellent. It is exactly the kind of album you'd expect the hugest pop star on the planet to make.

But above all, Born This Way succeeds because it is almost always interesting. Politics aside, this is a sonic smorgasbord, packed with forward-thinking rhythms (the eternally building strut of "Schiße," the icy synths of "Bloody Mary," the gnarly electro-guitars of "Bad Kids," the pulsing pump of "Heavy Metal Lover") that make it the most compelling pop album in recent memory. Even at its most indulgent, it's still undeniably real. You get the feeing that there truly isn't as much as a keytar squiggle that Gaga didn't obsess over ... for all the big names that worked on it, and all the all-star cameos it features, Born This Way is, at its core, a handmade thing. A labor of love.

While I'm still ingesting the majority of it, my first impression is this: Born This Way is a great, unapologetically huge album. It is brave and bold and even a little silly at times, but Gaga pulls it all off flawlessly. You will dance to it and take it to the bedroom; you will probably cry and sing along to it, too. It is everything to everyone.

Catch an exclusive teaser trailer for "Lady Gaga: Inside the Outside" on Thursday at 10:58 p.m. ET/PT on MTV, after a new episode of "Randy Jackson Presents: America's Best Dance Crew."

Lindsay Lohan: I'm "Enjoying" Community Service

Lindsay Lohan: I'm "Enjoying" Community Service

Lindsay Lohan never ceases to surprise: In her latest shocker, the troubled starlet has revealed that she is actually "enjoying" performing her court-ordered community service!

In a fun, candid interview with the Australian radio program The Kyle and Jackie O Show, Lohan opened up about her loyal friends, her feelings about Glee (which routinely bashes her), her "inappropriate" courtroom couture and her community service work -- which, it turns out, she loves.

Back in April, Lohan was ordered to complete 480 hours of community service, 360 of which would be served at Los Angeles' Downtown Women's Center. The community service was part of a sentence handed down for a probation violation stemming from her alleged theft of $2,500 necklace (Lohan pled "no contest" to the charge and was slapped with a 120-day jail sentence -- though that will likely turn into two weeks of house arrest). When the rambunctious Kyle and Jackie O asked her how serving her community was going, Lohan replied: "I'm enjoying it. I'm working in the Downtown Women's Shelter, and I think the second part I'm going to be working with kids, which I really like." Lohan adds that everyone at the shelter is "really nice."

And Lohan isn't just out to make her community a better place these days; she's also trying to make a difference on a global level. In the media firestorm surrounding Lohan's various scandals, her work combatting human trafficking (a cause she shares with Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher) has often gone unmentioned, something that Lohan complained about in the interview. In fact, Lohan even traveled to India to shoot a documentary about the problem of child trafficking, and says she looks forward to going back "when it is the right time."

Lohan wasn't quite as open when asked about her sexual orientation (she's famously had relationships with both men and women). She dodged thos queries, joking, "I'm available."

When asked about the dress she wore to her last court appearance, Lohan defended her choice: "I hadn't worn it, I still had the tag on it and she said it looked great so that was it. You wouldn't say that to a hooker coming into court, 'That's inappropriate.' That's all she has. I have great things to wear so it's not my fault! I love fashion, but I wasn't wearing that to court, I just wanted to go to court and get court over with because court scares me."

When Glee, a show that has lampooned Lohan on numerous occasions, came up in the conversation, Lindsay quickly said, "I don't watch Glee." But she was quick to add that she is friends with some of the cast members and that they all are "very talented." So would she would give the show permission to  her music? "Yeah, but they've made a lot of snarky remarks about me, and I don't know why. They don't need to do that."

More than anything, Lohan sounds eager to get back to work. Dispelling the rumors that she has become "uninsurable," Lohan said, "I think once I start filming, there's a few films I'm going to do, that's the best thing for me. I love being back on set. I had to learn, I'm not a kid so I had to grow up and be accountable."

We think this sounds hopeful, and we look forward to the Mean Girls star getting back to what she does best: acting. Next up is a role opposite John Travolta, Joe Pesci and Al Pacino in the mob drama Gotti: Three Generations. Sounds like a great start to us!

After delaying the premiere of her "Run the World (Girls)" video, MTV News has confirmed that Beyoncé will finally drop the video on Wednesday during "American Idol."

A label rep confirms that the video will hit the Web and other networks shortly after the West Coast broadcast of the show. "Run the World (Girls)" was originally slated to debut online last Friday, but a rep for Vevo.com confirmed to MTV News at the time that Beyoncé and her team were still putting the finishing touches on the Francis Lawrence-directed video.

A teaser for the video gave fans a taste of what they could expect from the full-length clip. In it, Beyoncé, dressed in high-fashion couture, and her super-cool-looking supermodel pals fend off an opposing army in a post-apocalyptic world.

"It'll be big, it'll probably be one of the bigger Beyoncé music videos ever done," Lawrence told MTV News recently. "And I can say that I think the song is unbelievable." He added, "I think the video's gonna be really fun and cool and different for her."

The song is the lead single off Beyoncé's forthcoming album 4. "It's definitely riskier than something a bit more ... simple," the singer told Billboard.com. "I just heard the track and loved that it was so different. It felt a bit African, a bit electronic and futuristic. It reminded me of what I love, which is mixing different cultures and eras — things that typically don't go together — to create a new sound.

"I can never be safe; I always try and go against the grain. As soon as I accomplish one thing, I just set a higher goal," she continued. "That's how I've gotten to where I am."
