Justin Bieber's Grammy Performance Will Be 'A Crossover,' Usher Says

HOLLYWOOD — At Sunday's 53rd Grammy Awards, Usher will be pulling double duty as both a nominee and a performer. Of course, given the massive year he just completed — with the success of his smash single "O.M.G." and as a mentor to rising phenom Justin Bieber — Ush's Grammy plans seem rather fitting.

Especially since he'll be performing with Bieber (and Bieber's pal Jaden Smith), a move that's just as much about celebrating Usher's successes as it is the successes of his young protégé.

"Having been through [the Grammys] so many times, you couldn't want for anything more than for your young protégé to have the opportunity to have one, so, in support of him having his moment, I wanted to be here," Usher told MTV News on Thursday, hours before his performance at the (Belvedere) RED launch party in Hollywood. "And also to be there to perform, to kind of tell the story of how we came together. This music business has definitely been good to both of us, and this year we have a lot to be happy for."

And just how will the dynamic duo tell that story? Well, Usher wasn't about to reveal all the details, but he did say that he's hoping their performance will show another side of Bieber ... a side most tend to overlook.

"The performance will be fun," Usher explained. "We want to get up there and just do what we do. Be comfortable, and have a great time. ... This is kind of a crossover for Justin. Having performed on so many different stages, this is the way that I wanted him to be seen and an opportunity to show the industry — a lot of the industry, that didn't believe [in him] — some of his other talents. He's going to play acoustically, and also, we'll get down a little bit."

And though Ush is up for a pair of Grammy awards on Sunday — Best Male R&B Vocal Performance and Best Contemporary R&B Album for Raymond v. Raymond — he's most looking forward to sharing the stage with Bieber and giving fans a look at where the young artist will be heading next.

"I'm very proud, man. I definitely saw it from the beginning, but thanks to the team that we have around us, it was made to happen. And that story has only just begun," Usher said. "The story of Justin Bieber doesn't stop with screaming girls; we need screaming fans all around the world ... a cultural experience that's much more than just fanfare. And that's what this is. That's what the Grammys will be; that's what my next phase for Justin is. This is the way I found him: I found him with a guitar in his hand, so I want him to be seen that way."

Don't miss "Snooki & Sway: Live From the Grammys," a red-carpet live stream kicking off Sunday at 6 p.m. ET on MTV.com. And stick with us all Grammy night for coverage of the red carpet, the show, the afterparties and beyond!

Courteney Cox: "I Have Not Had Sex" Since Splitting from David Arquette

Though Courteney Cox and David Arquette's split has been surprisingly friendly, it's also been as public as it gets. Now, the couple has revealed even more about both their married life and their lives since their split to shock jock Howard Stern.

In an interview with both parties, Stern uncovered that sex was a big part of the reason that the couple, who's been married for 11 years, is no longer together. Cox said her husband has a constant desire for sex -- and that she's just not that into it. But Arquette countered that it's much more complicated than that.

"I know I'm more in touch with what she needs now," he said Thursday. "She takes one sort of thing or a couple times and she clumps it and that's what happens all the time in our relationship. It's not really true."

But Cox says his advances towards her on their recent trip to Disney World are the perfect example.

"That was like the worst – I can't even tell you," the actress, 46, told Stern. "I had just woken up, he'd been up – you know he doesn't sleep."

Courteney says, when it comes down to it, she and Arquette just have a lot of conflicting personality traits.

"The truth of the matter is that we love each other so much. We have such affection for each other, but we are very different," she said. "I'm a homebody. I like to have people over, but I'm a little socially not ... I don't love it. David --he doesn't drink anymore, he's completely sober -- but he likes to go out and dance. He really is a very gregarious guy. He's very outgoing. I'm much more of an introvert."

Recent rumors say Cox is getting close to her Cougar Town costar Josh Hopkins, whom she recently vacationed with. Though her rep says they are just friends, Cox didn't come right out and deny the romance. But she did say that her costars "really don't want to get involved in this mess."

When bluntly asked by Stern if she has had sex with anyone else since her split from Arquette in October, she said, "I have not had sex."

The radio host went on to suggest that Hopkins may want to be more than just friends with Cox, but she insists that none of her costars have those feelings for her.

"If they do, they're not letting me know," she insists. "I mean I think they like David too much and it's too weird of a situation."

Justin Bieber's 'One Less Lonely Girl' Focus Of Royalty Lawsuit

Managers of the A-Rex songwriting team are looking for $200,000 they claim that they are owed from the hit song.

Justin Bieber's hit anthem "One Less Lonely Girl" has a couple of music managers feeling a bit left out in the cold. Vance Tate and Thomas Oliveria, who represent the songwriting team A-Rex — composed of Sean Hamilton and Hyuk Shin — have filed a lawsuit seeking additional royalties from the tune, which appears on Bieber's hit 2008 debut, My World.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the managers claim that the A-Rex team created "Lonely Girl," which is credited on My World to Hamilton and Shin, along with Ezekiel Lewis, Bieber mentor Usher and Balewa Muhammad.

Tate and Oliveria allege that they are entitled to 10 percent of the publishing royalties tied to A-Rex's share of the song, an amount they peg at around $200,000. They are seeking damages for breach of contract, fraud, conversion and copyright infringement. A spokesperson for Bieber's label could not be reached for comment on the lawsuit at press time.

The suit not only names Hamilton and Shin, but also EMI Music Publishing and the L.A. Reid Music Publishing Company, which is connected to Bieber's former label boss, Antonio "L.A." Reid, who recently stepped down as chairman of Island Def Jam Records to be a judge on Simon Cowell's upcoming "X Factor" reality show.

Another Bieber song, "Pray," meanwhile, is included on a just-released all-star charity benefit album Songs for Japan, proceeds from which will aid the victims of the earthquake/tsunami disaster in Japan. The Bieber track appears alongside tunes from Lady Gaga, Eminem, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Madonna, the Kings of Leon and Katy Perry.
