Ke$ha Out For Vengeance In Musical March Madness

'I'm getting ready as we speak,' she tells MTV News of this year's tournament, tipping off Monday.
By James Montgomery

<P>Last year, based mainly on her attitude, the fact that she plays an AK-47 shaped guitar and the presence of photos like this, Ke$ha was given an 11 seed in MTV's Musical March Madness tournament &#8212; and promptly lost by a huge margin to U2 in the opening round.</P><P><CENTER></CENTER></P><P>Of course, she's spent the past 12 months fuming over that early exit, and now, she's going to get her shot at redemption. Not only is Ke$ha <i>back</i> in the 2012 MMM tournament &#8212; which kicks off Monday &#8212; but she's beefed up her rock credentials: working with the likes of Alice Cooper, channeling the "sexiness" of '70s rock on her new album, recording a (genuinely pretty great) cover of Bob Dylan's "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright" and spending time snorting Tums with Wayne Coyne.</P><P>So, yeah, this year, she's ready to knock off the field of 63 other acts gunning for the MMM trophy &#8212; a brimming bracket that includes defending champions Green Day, upstarts Fun. and good pals the Black Keys, to name just a few &#8212; and reign supreme. But just in case all that rock-and-roll prep work isn't enough to put her over the top, well, Ke$ha has another secret weapon at the ready: an incredibly toned pelvic floor.</P><P>"I'm getting ready as we speak. I'm doing Kegels," she told MTV News, while throwing phantom punches at an unsuspecting cameraman. "Vote for me!"</P><P><b>MTV's 2012 Musical March Madness tournament begins Monday, March 12, when we'll unveil the full field of 64 bands that will battle for this year's championship. Winners are determined by fan votes, so if your favorite act made the cut, it will be up to you to guide them to glory. You can rally the troops on Twitter using the hashtag #MMM &#8212; but get ready, it's gonna be a war.</b></P><P><CENTER></CENTER></P>

Lady Gaga Still Wants To 'Act Like I'm 19'

Mother Monster covers the September issue of Vogue and talks about how despite her fame, she still likes to 'feel a little irresponsible.'
By Jocelyn Vena

<P>This year's September issue of Vogue is important not only because it's the <i>September issue,</i> but because it celebrates the magazine's 120 years in the business. And they've chosen the one and only Lady Gaga as their cover girl.</P><P>For her second cover, Gaga went ultra-glam; her hair platinum and big paired with an off-the-shoulder, mermaid-cut Marc Jacobs gown in multiple shades of fuchsia, purple and pink.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Lady Gaga Twitter Lightning Round!" id="vid:683377" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>The cover line promises, "Think you know Lady Gaga? Think again." And, in several quotes teased from the issue, which officially hits newsstands on August 14, Gaga dishes on not only her <i>Born This Way</i> Ball, but also the reasons she makes the music she does.</P><P>She also explained why it was so important that her fragrance appear so dark. "The fragrance is called Fame. It must be black," she said, noting that when she met with perfume designers they had to make sure it sprayed on clear. "It must be enticing. You must want to lick and touch and feel it, but the look of it must terrify you." As for her massive stage show, she explained that she wanted to "break the mold of what modern touring is now" and reinvent some of the images she's best known for, including that meat dress she wore to the 2010 VMAs.</P><P>"We were talking about putting the show together, and I said, 'OK, what if I was someone's grandma and I was going to a concert tonight? How would I know that it was a Gaga show?' " she said. "And we all just sort of looked at each other and said, 'The meat dress.' "</P><P>If the meat dress wasn't distinction enough, Gaga said what also makes her shows different is the way they make you feel. "I don't really make records for people to listen to and go, 'Wow, she's a genius.' " She added, "I'd really like you to order a drink, maybe kiss the person you came with that evening, or rediscover something about your past that makes you feel even more brave."</P><P>She explains in the issue that sometimes she doesn't just feel brave in her music, but also in her real life. And, despite her extremely high profile, she says she likes to "feel a little irresponsible and act like I'm 19." According to the Associated Press she added that there are times when she can "roll into a bar" and dance on a bar, or perhaps even have sex on the beach incognito.</P><P>The photos for the issue were shot by fashion photography team Mert &amp; Marcus. In one inside photo teased Gaga wears nothing but a big, feathered hot pink hat by Steven Jones.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Lady Gaga's Musical Roots" id="vid:657640" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P>

Elizabeth Olsen: Volume 8 - The Romance cover of Bullett Magazine

Elizabeth Olsen

Elizabeth Olsen looked enchanting in a white Channel dress with Dior jewelry in the cover of Bullett Magazine - Volume 8 - The Romance Issue. The 23-year-old actress accompanying interview are as follows. On her 'Liberal Arts' character zibby offering Jesse her virginity: ?Being 35 and taking a girl?s virginity? That?s crazy... If I were an older man and I saw a girl my age, who maybe didn?t know herself that well, I would find her so unappealing, because if you?re in it for sex, the sex won?t be that great. But when I see a woman in her 40s and up, I think, God, you know a lot. One day, I?ll get to be desired like you.? On her supportive father: ?My dad?s greatest pleasure is watching his kids do what they want to do. Nowadays, he loves going to my sisters? fashion shows or coming to visit me on set.? On her thought that being single is necessary to love thyself: ?It?s made me appreciate the things that I need to feel fulfilled. Sometimes, when I?m in a relationship, I get so excited to be around the other person that I forget to indulge the things that I need to be happy on a day-to-day basis. Or at least I did?I?m such a different person now than I was two years ago.? On working hard to make a name for herself on her own: "There?s definitely a reason why I went to so many acting conservatories. The more I trained, the less people could say, ?Oh, she?s just so-and-so?s sister.? They can still say that, sure?I have no control over that?but at least I know I?ve worked hard. There was definitely a time when I overcompensated, but I?m kind of over that.? Director Josh Radnor on Elizabeth Olsen: ?You?d be surprised by how many young actors show up not knowing their lines,? he says. ?Lizzie isn?t one of them. She puts a lot of thought into her characters, but she doesn?t show her homework.? [gallery=825]
